Father Mychal Judge

God answered my prayers through this guy’s documentary.

Did you know?….

He was a Franciscan priest in NYC.

He was the first recorded casualty of 9/11.

He WENT OUT and served the homeless.

He was a former alcoholic, and AA member for 23 years.

He was gay.

THIS MAN IS REAL.

Father Mychal Judge quotes:

“I, Mychal Judge, am not capable of doing these things on my own…I walk in, hold a hand, wipe a tear, say a prayer. But that’s not me, that’s the grace of God. I don’t worry about the details…it’s a mystery, it’s God.”

“There’s a tremendous need for us to be people of prayer, to be in constant contact with God, to teach our people more and more the values of personal prayer.”

“The wonderful thing is saying yes and accepting God’s grace. We could say no and walk away. But when we say yes and go forward, great and wonderful things will happen. It takes courage in the midst of fear, but you do it with the grace of God.”

“Thou shall not bullshit.” (on the need to be honest with self and others).
“If you descend into somebody else’s private hell and stand there with them, it ceases to be hell.”
Fr. Mychal anointed a man who was dying of AIDS. When the man asked him, “Do you think God hates me?,” Mychal just picked him up, kissed him, and silently rocked him in his arms. [Saint of 9/11]

“No matter what mess you’re in, you’re always held and loved by God.”

“No matter how big the call, no matter how small, you have no idea of what God is calling you to do, but God needs you. He needs me. He needs all of us”. (last homily: Sept. 10, 2001)

(in 1992 interview): “I wonder what my last hour will be. Will it be trying to help someone, trying to save a life?” [Victim 0001: CTVC]
